Description
This was a different soap for me. I got the recipe from an older soap friend that her family has no interest in soaping. She felt her recipe was too good just to die out with her and she was not making it anymore. In return for her recipe, I had to make loafs for her until she dies. I felt this was a pretty decent deal.
I sent out samples to quite a few folks and got great reviews on the soap for poison oak/Ivy rash as well all being able to wash the oils off from being exposed.
NOW, here is my disclaimer. There are some big RULES about soap per the FDA. I Cannot legally tell you this soap with help you with poison oak/ivy. That would be claiming this is medicine and this is soap. What I can say is people have used the ingredients in this soap for a decades and they will tell you that it may shorten the time you have a rash, and it can wash off the oils if you have been exposed. Basically if you read between the lines, I have no desire to irritate the FDA by claiming any kind of medicinal properties of this soap. 🙂
BUT, what I can tell you the ingredients in this soap are amazing. They are soothing and many of the oils and ingredients in this soap are “old timey” remedies to soothe and help skin. Please note this is a very DRYING soap by design. If I were using this on my skin it would be if I had a Oak/Ivy Rash or if I had touched it. It would be way too drying for everyday use. There you go. Take it or leave it 🙂
Ingredients: Organic Coconut Oil, Organic Olive Oil, Organic Sunflower Oil, Water, Lye BBF Goat Milk, Jewelweed, Peppermint Essential Oil, Pine Essential Oil, Orange Essential Oil, Tea Tree Essential Oil, Eucalyptus Essential Oil, Myrrh Indian Essential Oil, Comfrey Leaf Powder, Pine Tar, Bicarbonate Clay, Activated Charcoal , Plantain Leaf Powder, Colloidal Oatmeal
I am offering TWO Sizes on this soap. One size the big bar should be for house use. The smaller bar, will be perfect to put in a back pack for hiking. The Smaller bar will not have a label. I am selling the smaller bar at my cost for the WFF community. This would be a great gift for any firefighter or any first responder you know 🙂
This ABSOLUTELY needs to be dried between uses. The clay in this soap will become goop if allowed to sit in water! This is not what I would consider a pretty soap, its made to do its job! this can and will run black in the bathtub because of the charcoal.

I’m sure it will work great. We live all Barking Bird Farm products. My husband cuts back the blackberry bushes and poison oak on our property and fights the itch every year.
